about the tax

Hello, everyone!

My girl friend and I will work in Lausanne with permit B. So I wonder whether we will pay less for tax if we are getting married.

The amount of tax you will pay will increase 566.5433chf/year. If you want a more meaningful answer then, either: make an effort with some detail of your situation in your posting; research on the internet, or see an accountant.

Re: about the tax

What you can do is to get the Easytax software (or the Vaud equivalent) and then work the tax out first separately then together using tariff B.

I'm not sure if tariff B applies to Quellensteuer, though (the direct tax pulled when you are on a B - sorry for the German, Mark) but I suspect it will.

One other hint if you are not actually officially here yet, be very careful when you go to the city office and they ask you what religion you are - if you reply one of the official 3 it gets expensive as you will become liable for Church Tax. Say other if possible.

You're welcome. Try this. There is a link to taxation.ch, that includes some useful info too.
