'Mobile wealthy' to me is when we have more than one bicycle or cellphone.

Interesting report and I know the Scorpio Partnership to be a reliable source. However I am puzzled by the Isle Of Man's appearance at number 8. As a place to squirrel away one's assets - yes, but as a location to base one's mobile wealthy self - eh? I think I'd rather be penniless in the sun.

I'd have to agree.

"Residency" is as defined for tax purposes. May not be the place where the "mobile wealthy" actually live. Being mobile they will be jetting around the globe from one sunny beach to another.

I suppose we are mobile, or we wouldn't have got here in the first place.

How do we know that they aren't just visiting the country to draw their money out of UBS, so as not to get caught by the secrecy thing and having a little holiday while they are at it?

Switzerland publishes statistics on Swiss Bank deposits held by non-residents. Other jurisdictions do, too. These are the statistics used to rank "destinations for mobile wealthy".

All this has nothing to do with tourists and holidays. Also, I doubt that the mobile wealthy are appearing at UBS with suitcases to take their money away.

Nice article and consoling that some of us made a decision long ago to come here and grabbed a good part of land before new influx of "mobiles" takes it over. CH becomes the prime destination for people from isles

Don't be taken in by statistics. Some of the so-called wealthy people you come across here are merely rich. Most are nothing more than affluent.
