I have been taxed at source in 2008 but have filed some deductions at the tax office in Lausanne (Vaud).´

Does anyone know when the tax return for 2008 is complete by the Vaud (Lausanne) Tax office and available on my bank account?

Since I moved out of Switzerland it is a little hard to follow the administration (and I don't know if my regular mail is coming through)

My husband is in exactly the same situation (admittedly in Geneva) and about 4 months after he submitted the claim he received a letter stating that they acknowledged the receipt of his request and would try to process the claim by the end of the year. And that he should wait patiently and refrain from calling them. But maybe in Vaud it is different...

I went through this process last year. I believe I submitted the forms in late March and received the refund in my back account in late July.

Fortunately, I didn't have to fill out the forms this year because they have been taxing me at the correct rate lately. However, maybe there are others out there who can help you with info on this year's progress.

I just submitted 4 years of tax returns at once, my Fiduciaire told me to expect the money around the end of the year.

i got confirmation of the amount i am to receive after 17 months (last month for 2007). no sign of the money yet though.

there are many things that contribute to the length of time to process an application. just because a few people list dates/times here is only proof that total year 2007 (approx 340k returns, i believe) is actually being analysed. your result could be at any time.

VD have coughed up a nice wedge to me last week. not sure if this completes my return for 2007, i suspect not, but more than half the year has been dealt with and the rest is trivial.

for ZRH'ers: i just been asked to file for 2008, my first time in ZRH, but have until end november to submit.

We're still waiting for our first ever tax return to pop through the door here in Vaud - hope they give us several months to submit it once it finally turns up!

i got 30 days to submit it! you can already do a lot of the preparation work with the software before hand though.

You can ask for an extension to the filing deadline. It is usually granted.

I filed my returns for 2007 around April 2008 and received the tax returns in October 2008.

I am still waiting for my 2008 return, which i turned in almost one year ago.

Can anyone explain the process. Since we have moved back to Denmark I am starting to suspect that there was some letter that I never received where I had to do something?

So I called the Lausanne (Vaud) tax office (for people taxed at source) to get further information on what is going on there, and when I finally got through to someone that spoke a little English she said that there could be several months more to wait for the 2008 tax return...

I mean - we are in March 2010?!?

Anyway - apparently they are struggling with a new system or similar.

I guess patience is a virtue in this matter - I just hope that all the chaos there doesn't mean they lost my documents or things like that...I'm loosing faith in the system...

Last year I applied for the expat deduction (couple of months of 2008), applied in late March 09, received money in May or June. This was done by the Tax Consultant (paid by employer for the first year).

This year received the offer from the consultant (Chf 800,- ), and decided to file myself using Vaud tax and Google translator (I speak zero French). Filed at their office in March, will see how fast they will process.

Just got ours! Our tax accountant's just sent us rebates (yay!) for 2008 and 2009, so the backlog must be cleared. Either that, or our tax people shout louder than others

Any chance of anyone here willing to recommend an accountant to help file a tax return?
