Cheers Dino, unfortunately I can't make either date but the following Saturday would definitely be a go-er.

Thanks everyone for your RSVP's.
It seems that Friday, 20th works for most people.

Pls block 6-8pm in your schedules.
I will send out the address tomorrow morning.

Re: any interest in 'Investing 101" ??

We will meet at

American Women's Club (AWCZ)
Schöntalstrasse 8
8004 Zurich

the nearest stations are Zurich Wiedikon and Zurich Selnau. seems to be a 5 min walk from both.

I will email my cell number to all participants...

We have space for at least 5-8 more members, so if anyone is wondering about this, you are welcome to join in.

and if anyone (or their partner) is a member of the AWCZ, that would be very helpful cause members only pay 50% of the room rental.

Re: any interest in 'Investing 101" ??

well, I am calling it an 'unconventional viewpoint' and will touch on a range of topics ... including

a) the attraction and perils of leverage
b) the wonders of compound interest
c) what does risk really mean?
d) perils of stock picking for the individual investor
e) steering away from IPOs and mutual funds

no numbers or calculators ... no jargon... plain English only.

We have confirmations from about 8-10 so far; it will be a more interesting discussion with a few more people, so I would encourage any others who are still thinking about it to join us on Friday.

first thing - I suggest you wait for the reactions and feedback of those who are there before you decide if it's useful to read my slides..

second - the way I have organized the material, I wouldn't say it is self-explanatory at all, so don't know if it will help you at all to simply read my slides.

however, if people find it useful, I will certainly be happy to do it again later.

Well we met , and I enjoyed it - again I'm just looking for investing ideas and rationales as to why particular sectors might be worth looking at.
I was the Irish guy in case there's any doubt...
Thanks again to Dino for the major effort he went to - I really hope it is a recurring event.
