Hi dino ,

The uranium miner I'm particularly long on is Denison mines.... uranium one less so.

I use (currently) cortalconsors for my trading - www.cortalconsors.de

Let me know your thoughts please.

first thing - I suggest you wait for the reactions and feedback of those who are there before you decide if it's useful to read my slides..

second - the way I have organized the material, I wouldn't say it is self-explanatory at all, so don't know if it will help you at all to simply read my slides.

however, if people find it useful, I will certainly be happy to do it again later.
I attended the session and found it very useful. The content was enlightening. I would agree with you, dino, that the slides are not self-explanatory and you had a lot more content to add besides the points on the slides. By the way, that is the essence of a good presentation. Thanks a bunch.

Parnell, thanks for the link to www.cortalconsors.de. They seem to charge €4.95 per trade for the first 12 months (12 Monate lang nur 4,95 Euro pro Trade - Trader Konto) which is better than the 9CHF per trade Swissquote charges (for CHF account).

PS: We were the Indian couple at the presentation.

Re: any interest in 'Investing 101" ??

As I believe most of you found Dino's seminar interesting I thought that I would post this here as we are organising a series of presentations with a variety of proffessional asset managers which I thought you may be interested in attending. This presentation is in Basel on Tuesday 9th Feb 2010 at a location to be confirmed (This depends on interest and numbers)

The asset manager in question was started 1991 as pioneers of fee-only fund management and remain one of the few to pass on institutional dealing terms to private clients. They were one of the first firms to embrace open architecture and give private clients full exposure to a range of leading investment managers and strategies and remain one of the few to genuinely individually manage portfolios.
The company is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority to provide a range of investment services in the UK and Europe
The business has grown rapidly on the basis of strong investment performance and client retention.

Funds under management have grown from £370 million to £1632 million over the last 4 years.

The theme for the seminar is:

"Managing portfolio's in turbulent markets" and there will be an open question and answer session at the end.

If there is an interest we can organise something for the members of the forum who would be interested, I have not mentioned the asset managers name as I am not sure that I am allowed to?

Re: any interest in 'Investing 101" ??

Just seeing this post, bummed I missed it.

Is there another meeting planned? If not, can I find a summary of the discussion somewhere?

Parnell - you probably spoke about this at the meeting but I was wondering why you are so bullish on Denison? I've been looking at the Uranium industry for awhile (Cameco, being one of the leaders there) but an yet to invest in it.

With regards to cortalconsors, are their any complication with them being in Germany...affect taxes in any way?

Thanks

Re: any interest in 'Investing 101" ??

Hey all,

I was browsing the forum for something like a "Investment 101" session and I am definitely interested. Would there be any chance something like this would be organized again?

If not, I'd be fine sitting down with someone to introduce me into the world of investments.

Cheers
Wicher

Interested parties can PM me with their names and email address and I will forward a link to the doodle we are using to set-up our first meeting in Central Zurich (location to be defined).
