Question about leaving Switzerland and moving back to the UK

Hi,

I have lived in Switzerland for almost two years, two years May end and moving back to the UK end of May.
A couple of niggling questions, will i need to pay any tax on my the monies from my Swiss pension and is my tax status affected?

Yes you will indeed need to pay money on your pension fund(s) when you cash them in. You also need to ensure that the money is officially paid out on 31.05.07 otherwise you might just have a surprise. Furthermore you need to make sure you leave at the end of May and not the start of June. No your tax status is not affected for your residual income.

Richard, Hi.

Just been told that a new law comes into effect 1.6.07.
Pension savings in Switzerland can no longer be taken out of the country ( refers to obligatory payments ).

I guess your response relates to that ruling ??
