PostFinance ATM Upload Option

Hello,

I don't have a PostFinance account but had to use my BCV debit card at one of the PostFinance ATMs in Geneva last weekend.

It was my first time using one of their machines and I somehow ended up selecting the 'Load' option instead of the 'Withdraw' option and actually uploaded some amount as well. The machine did not ask me for any input after that and went back to the main menu. No cash came out either obviously.

I have checked and the amount is gone from my account. Any ideas where the money would be?

Thanks!

Re: PostFinance ATM Upload Option

Is your card a Maestro card? It probably was uploaded onto the chip in that.

I once did that by accident at BKB, I had to go into the bank and ask what I did wrong They told me how to take it off the card and put it back into the account with the bank machine

So, it is possible that's where the cash is.

Re: PostFinance ATM Upload Option

Maybe you have a "cash chip" on your card.... it was promoted a couple of years ago as easy payment option (no code required I think). Never heard about it again though. I do not think that you can transfer money to a linked account, so I would not now where else it could have landed.

It could be that your card has a 'CASH' function, which means you can use it like a chargecard, to buy things.

We use this function to buy things at our canteen at work.

I'm not sure how you get the money back, but I'm sure that you can.

Re: PostFinance ATM Upload Option

Thanks guys. It must be on the cash chip on my Maestro then. I suppose I should go to the nearest PostFinance branch and ask them how I can get it off or use it.

you can use it for bus tickets (at certain machines), for parking, or for small purchases at kiosks etc. or you can go back to the ATM and download the amount from the chip back to your account.

Re: PostFinance ATM Upload to Cash Chip Option

Hi All,

I have post finance account and a card with cash chip. I was trying to find the option to upload money to this cash chip at a Post Finance ATM but couldn't see that option? Have they stopped this feature or is it available only at few ATM machines?
