WIR - Anybody With Experience?

Just curious if anybody has had any (positive or negative) experience
handling, dealing with or banking with WIR.

Just a few of my questions are:
  1. How much should a KMU (small to middle sized company) keep
    liquid in WIR?
  2. 60,000 KMUs registered, how many actually deal with WIR?
  3. As much WIR should be accepted as can be spent, what are the
possibilities that too much WIR accumulates and stagnates?
The questions answer each other, even if you know a little about WIR.
I am after your experiences related to these questions.

Well, that's enough for starters. I have more but will wait to see if
there is anybody that can help.

Re: WIR - Anybody With Experience?

I have seen ads, in the newspaper, offering to exchange WiR to/from CHF. The WiR bank forbids exchange. But there is a market. I hear that the rate is CHF 60 for WiR 100, i.e. the market is discounting WiR 40%.

Google the topic. I found this, but it an old article:

Re: WIR - Anybody With Experience?

WIR - is a very sticky business. If you can manage to leave your fingers from it, do it. As soon as you get WIR, you can devaluate them by 30%. It's actually forbidden to sell them for cash, so once you have WIR in your books, it's awfully difficult to get rid of them.

Does anyone have any experience with the WIR bank?

Is anyone here a member of it, involved in it in anyway, and if so, what's your thoughts on it and experiences. I'm into the whole LETS movement so it's why I'm interested in WIR.
