| | | Fastest bank for internet payments? (Urgent payment needed)
Does anyone know from experience how long it takes for a payment to arrive from banks like PostFinance, Raiffeisen and UBS?
I need to send a payment urgently and it is already past the cutoff times for some. See 'acceptance times' in their help file.)
I have searched the sites (Banks and EF) but have not found a list with how long it takes to arrive! Any experience with these banks (or others?). Or if you know a method of making a payment this late in the day, I would be interested too! Edit:- For PF, it is 1pm if you send it to a bank, it is 6pm if not to a bank. Source: see help in internet banking.
- For UBS it is 2pm if to a Swiss account, but if SEPA, payments need to be in by 6am in the morning
http://www.ubs.com/1/ShowMedia/ubs_c...ff-times-e.pdf Update:
Ok, I called UBS to ask about paying their credit card bill on the due date. For reference, you cannot go to an UBS bank and physically pay into a Cardcentre account, that would not have worked. However, if you pay your credit card bill on the due date (like I am), you will not be charged interest, even if it takes 2-3 working days to arrive. That is how they work, they told me. Thanks UBS, that is great! (Unlike Migros cards, see my post below).

Send it by Western Union. Their wire service is available in all big train stations.

Thanks but I can't it seems because it is to a bank, and Western union says someone has to pick it up. It is also quite expensive, and I would use PostFinance which I already have, even though Western Union through PostFinance uses a faster method somehow |

Thanks, it is UBS. But I closed that account 18 months ago. So now I am hoping to find out what the average amount of days is for a transfer from PostFinance to a bank, and from Raiffeisen to a bank (UBS in this case) and pick the fastest.

Take cash from your bank, walk into UBS and make the transfer at the counter.
If you need to do it without cash then sorry, I have no idea oif transit times between banks here.

Its UBS Cardcentre, I will give them a call to see if that would work.
Gata, UBS says it is 2pm for the cutoff time.

Hello,
I sent money (online), "express" to my daughters account using Post Finance under the domestic payments service.
It was immediate as I recall, and I think as she has also a P.F. account it cost nothing. The fee for your transaction would only be approx 8 CHF, I think, if any at all, being a National tranaction.
I was very pleased at the time, it was so quick and easy.

Ok, I called UBS. For reference, you cannot go to them and pay into a Cardcentre account, that would not have worked.
However, if you pay your credit card bill on the due date (like I am), you will not be charged interest, even if it takes 2-3 working days to arrive. That is how they work, they told me.
Now, it has been a while since I had anything positive to say about UBS, but that is a nice policy I think. Beats the hell out of M-Budget Mastercard who have sent me bills on Friday, expect payment to be in by Monday, which is not possible if you see it Friday evening, and then had the guts to charge me over 20 CHF in interest. Even writing a letter did not help.
So be careful with this card, as they claim payment from Raiffeisen took up to 7 days in some instances! (Which were obviously not due to faults on the bank side of things). Direct debits LSV are also not possible with M-Budget Mastercard, if you want your husband/wife to pay them whilst you are the main card holder and they are partnertcard holders.
Edit: Thanks Rampion, I know that option exists, but I never see it when I am logged in with PF. I only see a priority option, which is different and does not help...

My M-Card statement arrives mid-month and I have time till end-of-month to settle. Seems fair.
