Swiss interest rates

I am about to take a 600,000 CHF mortgage on a Swiss domestic property with UBS. Can anyone help me with the Swiss view on interest rates over the next few years? Is it a good idea to fix the rate now or tie it to Libor? Or mix and match?

Re: Swiss interest rates

Really it depends how much you can afford to be exposed to variable rates.

Over the long term, say 25 years, I suspect fixing every 3 years will work out more expensive than the cheaper margins offered on variable rates. That's the price of certainty.

I think the banking consensus would be broadly stable vs current levels, maybe a slight increase mid term.

Hi; I took out a 400,000 CHF variable rate mortgage 5 years ago. It started out with a 3.25% rate, went down to 3.00% and is now back up to 3.25%.

Re: Swiss interest rates

I have a libor up to 2.6% which started out at 0.62%. My fixed stuff is between 2 and 2.5%.

I do get some preferential rates though
