Living in Geneva, working in Vaud

Dear all,

Apologies if there is already a thread on this - I've searched but unsure of what tags to look for!

A basic question - if I live in Geneva but work in Vaud (and my spouse lives in Geneva and works in Geneva), where do I pay taxes? Vaud or Geneva?

I thought it was your place of residence - especially as we will get taxed as a single married rate on the combination of both salaries.

Does anyone know also to which canton I would pay the AVS?

GVA.

although VD might ask you to provide extra paperwork to prove your 'centre of life' is in GVA. don't forget that the travel expenses will be tax deductible.

In you live in GVA and work in Vaud, can you deduct you travel expenses if you are taxed at source?

You will pay everything to Geneva. It is based upon where you
live.

not sure. you could try a 'demande de rectification' on this site:

[note if you earn more than 120kCHF you will have to make a tax return anyway, even if paying tax at source.]
