Can we claim for Kinderkrippe, Swimming and Football Lessons on our Tax Return?

It's that time of the year again.

As the title says, can we claim on our Tax Return for the costs of Kinderkrippe for our 3 year old and the Swimming and Football lessons our 7 year attends?

Mrs OM - says "Yes, my friend told me, why didn't you do it last year you useless lump of Mancunian fat?"

I say "Oh boogah. Never knew that. I hope you're wrong, I'll ask the Experts"

Aside: her Friend is Swiss National, divorced single woman who works and sends her 8 year old to Hort(?) until she gets back from work.

Part of the cost for the Kinderkreippe is tax deductible. Can't remember the amount but some is better than none .

Yes and no.

Kindergrippe, basically yes, but as I understood, this may depend on whether one or both parents work. Your kindergrippe should send you an attestation around this time of year specifically for your tax return.

Daycare expenses for an school aged child, same as above.

Swimming and football lessons no.

I suspect that as a single parent, your friend can claim more, as she does not have a spouse to care for the child while she works.

We have always claimed for childcare expenses, and have always been sent an attestation by the crêche or accueil scolaire around tax time.
Extra-curricular activities? No.

Are you both working? I understand that both parents have to work to get tax deduced from Day care. From August I will be finally working but only 7 hours a week and outside of school holidays. I am wondering if this will be enough to be entitled a deduction.
