is there anybody here who pays Quellensteuer but trying to claim back Verrechnungssteuer? I was expecting a simple form, but it came with 4 pages which include things like global income, properties etc. I thought to just forward them the bank statement and claim back the Verrechnungssteuer as it was from the interest of my saving here from work. While the amount is not really big, I am seriously considering whether the effort is worth as normally as withholding tax payer we don't need to do any declaration. Am I now asking for trouble just for the sake of tiny Verrechnungssteuer??

Life would have been much simple would it have been the process. It takes long time and plus if you are expats working in ch and you want to claim other expenses there are many forms and supporting docs which you will need to submit.

Some canton have online apps but not sure if your canton have one.

Atleast I had to follow this process and got some tax back.

But at last it depends on Canton as every canton have their own TAX dept.
