Transferring Money Home

Hi all, new to the forum.

I was just wondering how easy it is to transfer money back to the UK from my Swiss account, ZKB? I have the UK bank account number & sort code, but is there any other info that I need?

Also, how long does it take and what are the charges involved?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Reg

Re: Transferring Money Home

Safest way is to use the IBAN (International Bank Account Number).

But it does depend on the bank as well. I think CS don't like allowing international transfers if you don't have an IBAN, for example.

Charges - depends on the bank, but usually between 15-20 CHF.

Time - 2-3 working days in my experience.

You will need the UK account's IBAN and Swift code too then it's easy. I think I get charged about 19 CHF for transferring around 1,500 with Migro bank

Yep, as others have said, you'll need the IBAN and swift (or BIC) code. You can just call your UK bank and ask them what these are...or sometimes if you log on to your UK e-banking it says it there.

I'm charged 20CHF to transfer any amount back to the UK. Seems to work out cheaper if you pay all the costs this end instead of splitting them.
