Me and my wife both work and both around 100-120 so both we are on tax a la source. But we also receive the tax returns forms. Problem is that (maybe I did it wrong) by accoring to zurich private tax or these online calculator I will pay considerably more then tax a la source. I know a lot of people ask if they can do tax return, my question is if I can avoid it :-) since anyway I am with tax a la source?

We live in Zurich Gemeinde, married, no kids.

When you pay Quellensteuer (tax a la source) you are not obliged to make a tax declaration unless your salary, or in this case both of your salaries, reach a certain limit. Talk to the Gemeinde about which is this limit in Zürich.

This is also what I thought. But there is any law regarding this.
Because even if you are in tax a la source you can still ask and fill a complete tax declaration. The opposite can also apply? If they want you to fill a tax return (and send you the papers) you have to fill it?
