Tax Level Recalculation (Basel)

Does somebody know if the costs of German Courses for a non working wife are deducible when requesting Recalculation of Source Tax Level?

Thanks

In other words, I'd like to know if the German Courses for a non working wife are deducible in the Tax Declaration.

Re: Tax Level Recalculation (Basel)

I wouldn't think it very likely, unless it will specifically improve her chances of getting a job. Maybe someone knows the law better though.

However, couldn't you just try it out and enter it in the relevant place on the form. The Taxmen will just take if off if they don't agree with you.

Well, that's what they did with mine!

Re: Tax Level Recalculation (Basel)

Than you all for your responses. Last year I filled out the form and one weeks ago got an orange slip to pay, as the recalculation wasn't in my favour .

That's why I'm very cautious this time.
