Moving and taxes question [Is it worth moving?]

Hi Guys,

So we are planning to leave the ghetto where we live and move to a nicer place. We currently live in Basel and are looking into Allschwil and Oberwil (we have found some nice places there). In order for us to actually benefit from moving we have found cheaper rent (300-450 CHF less) but we would like to know if we are going to pay less taxes.
I used the online calculator at www.homegate.ch and according to our info:
Married, double income, no kids, no property owned by us (yes we are poor ) if we moved to Allschwil we would save ~14% of the taxes we pay not, and if we moved to Oberwil, we would then save ~18%. I have called my tax advisor but he does not answer!!!
Would you guys mind helping me confirm if this is true?

Thanks

A

Use the tax calculator on Comparis - it is very accurate!

Alternative goto the website of your kanton and get the kantonal and community rate - that will be your best guide.

You can alternatively make scenario simulations using the taxing software for BL.

You must also take into consideration that if you earn more than 120k then you are eligible of filling in a tax-return and clain expenses (travel, children etc), this would also lower your tax burden.
