What do to with foreign change? (Alternative title: more money than sense!)

Apologies if this has been asked before... I did search!

Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do with a bunch of random foreign change, ie, a few coins from China here a few more from Australia and Jamaica there? I know that Unicef, through the airlines, has a "change for good" program - does anybody know how to access that without being on an international flight? (I did write an email to Unicef in Zurich, but have not heard back!)

Merci!

Dear All

Just in case anybody else is interested in this - have just found out today that a teacher at ICSZ, in Zumikon, collects this change to give to a Swiss organization:

Have you come back from your summer travels with a pocket full of foreign coins you are unlikely to use again in the near future? Then please consider giving them to a Swiss organisation that uses spare change to change the lives of children in small rural communities.
Clive Greaves, Deputy Principal of the Secondary School, is collecting foreign coins of all kinds to give to the Patenschaft fuer Berggemeinden (Sponsorship for Mountain Communities). This organisation turns donated foreign currency into Swiss francs and spends it on projects specifically for the benefit of children in small villages and hamlets in Switzerland. Many of these small communities, though heavily taxed, are still short of funds for vital renovation and renewal projects.
By donating your holiday change, you will be helping projects directly related to children in these small communities: renovation of school-rooms; replacing school buses; a new playground etc.
  • How to give: If you have any foreign coins you would like to donate to this worthwhile cause, then either hand them directly to Clive Greaves in the Diploma Studies Centre, or to any of the three offices: Main Building, Secondary or Diploma Studies Centre. Mr Greaves says: "The Patenschaft fuer Berggemeinden are always very glad to receive donations and acknowledge our help."
