Need help with chasing a dept of 3K. Looking a company who can chase it for me? Anybody any recommendations?

Sending a Betreibung is really simple. You should be able to do it yourself. Which canton is the delinquent in?
However, before trying to get your money, I would contact the Betreibungsamt where this delinquent is based and ask for a Betreibungsregisterauszug. If you see that there are already tons of people on there trying to get at the delinquent's money, you may want to think twice about wasting a few hundred francs for nothing.

For a Betreibung value of CHF 1'000 I paid fees of Fr 70,--

I didn't get any money, he went to lawyer and claimed poverty, I shall hound him now as he has moved to Solothurn.

I went after someone near Olten and it cost CHF 200 up front. When I checked the Betreibungsauszug I saw that the tax department, AHV and health insurers were already on there...so my money was basically wasted.

You have to choices:
- Betreibungsauskunft (to check whether you are not the only one, running after your money)
- Betreibungsbegehren (the first step in getting back your money)

However, if the debtor really does not want to pay you likely cannot avoid going to court.
