| Hi, Need an advice about Child allowance and Tax deducted at source. I am a non EU who has been working here since 2008 Aug, The Tax deduction at source was done at 10.5%, and recently came to know about the child allowance and difference in taxation for married individual with child supposedly around 6% and not 10.5. The payroll division of our company is willing to correct from Jan’10 to July ’10 and pay me the difference of taxation and also the child allowance for the same period. Can some body advise me on how to get the amount(TDS arrears & Child allowance) from Aug 2008 – Dec 2009, I earn <120k and have not filed tax returns. | |

Assuming that your company were aware of your circumstances then they made a mistake in setting up your payroll and are, therefore, liable for the outstanding amounts.
The company may then attempt to adjust their payments with the tax authorities - good luck to them
