Tax situation for spouse of international worker

My situation is as follows : my wife is an international worker and I have just started work in Geneva on a B-permit. Will the Geneva tax office consider us as "double earners" and tax me at the single person rate / or worse ?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Tax situation for spouse of international worker

By international worker, I mean she works for one of the organizations identified as such on the Geneva tax office website;

http://ge.ch/impots/article/afc/cont...retenue/bareme

which are -

AELE, AEMF, BIE, BITH, CERN, CIM, FISCR, IATA, OICR, OIPC, OIT, OMC, OMM, OMPI, OMS, ONU, SITA, UICN, UIP, UIT, UPOV.

Re: Tax situation for spouse of international worker

So, by converting to a B permit you waive your rights to immunity for tax and other stuff which you probably know. Your wife is still exempt of course so her earnings are not taken into account so you'll just be taxed in your own right.

Re: Tax situation for spouse of international worker

Thanks for the advice swissbob. I contacted the Geneva tax office and they confirmed your take of the situation; I'll be taxed at rate B - where my spouse either does not work or is an international civil servant.
