quick bill question

hi all just a quick question.
We have an outstanding bill of less than 100 chf with romande energy.
now the bill is from AFTER we moved out and to my knowledge the bill should be carried on the new tenant no?
I just got of a very unpleasant phonecall with a rep from them saying I am braking the law etc etc.

whats the deal here? do I still have to pay? I tried resolving but the rep was very clear there was no negotiating and basically told me he does not care (his exact words actually) I pulled the whole asloca card and he backed up immediately but still insisted i paid.

Re: quick bill question

So did you read the meters when you handed over the property? The bill should show for how much electricity you are paying. Maybe the last bill you paid was only an estimate and this is now the final bill?

Take the bill down to their office and ask them to explain it to you.

Re: quick bill question

Are you sure that the bill is from after you moved out ? If the dates on the bill are after you moved out, then forward the bill to the letting agency. If the bill is not dated, and is based on meter readings, and you did not take a reading after you moved out then it will be hard to prove in your favour who should be paying the bill. Galling I know. Write it off to experience.

Re: quick bill question

Yes he told me the reading was from may 4th till June I believe. We moved in April. not on a good note with the agency either tho haha as we used asloca on them also....with succes.

I think im just not going to pay and if they want to send an agency they can but i think the amount is to small and I would take it further then.

Re: quick bill question

Did you know that all the electricity supply companies in Switzerland run a black customer list? You might not get connected next time until you pay this bill.
