I have just moved to Zug and I am using my UK card in the meantime.
At the till, sometimes the transaction goes through sometimes not. For example at Migros there is always a message "Technical Error".
I called Nationwide and they said the card is fine and not blocked. It's the merchant bank it's blocking the card.
I would appreciate if you are able to shed some light on this as it never happened before to me.

First step - ask for a new card, maybe the chip is kAPUTT? How old is the card. Failing that open up an account here and use the local card.
