Selling gold jewelry

Hi,

Where would be a good place to sell gold jewelry without having a dealer low ball you by 15% below the spot price?

I have some 18kt. cufflinks with small diamonds and 19th century gold US coins set in a round frame to sell. They weigh together 20g and the dealer offered me CHF 530. According to the site http://www.dendritics.com/scales/metal-calc.asp, we are looking at a scrap value of at least CHF 617 calculating the diamonds and the coins using the 18 ct. gold price. The diamonds are about 2.5 mm in diameter so I am guessing 0.05 carat. The gold coins are .900 gold, i.e. purer than 18ct.

Thanks for any input.

Scrap value 617 , offer 530 , gross profit 87 or around 15% ?
That isn't a bad offer, it's a fair price and a fair profit surely ?

Maybe I am missing something...
