Obviously I have put this into babel fish, but still a bit in the dark, could anybody shed some light on this and which Amt I need to go to (I am located in Basel and trying to buy a holiday home in VS).

Confirmation from the Tax Office that you, (Mr Mark Crampton) have an unrestricted tax liabilty in Switzerland and that your main residence for taxation purposes is in Switzerland. ( through personal affiliation and not only commercial/economic affiliation due to acquisition of property)

thanks very much for that that makes a lot more sence, does anybody have any experiance of how easy it is to get one?

I assume I just go down to the Steuerverwaltung?
