debts after you leave Switzerland

Hi

I am planning to leave Switzerland. What happens if some bills are not paid. I have already explained to them that this bill was incorrect and excessive and I expect that A betreibung might follow. However I would have left this country be then.

I go to India does this mean I have to come to attend this court here. Can they directly deduct money from my bank account here.

Thanks

Re: betreibung after you leave Switzerland

Without knowing the background, I would suggest you try and sort it out before you leave. If you leave it open and want to return to Switzerland one day, you might have some problems then...

You know, ktdt77, in reference to your other posts (broken sofa, rental contract, vacation encashment), and especially this thread, you seem to be making a bit of a messy exit... Pushing the rules, and trying to get as much money as possible! I know, I know, who wouldn't want to? But still, man, let's try to keep up our reputation as both Indians as well as foreigners! Maybe it's not my place to say it, but I couldn't help it after taking a look at all your posts!

Just my 2 rupees.

Re: betreibung after you leave Switzerland

In connection with leaving Switzerland, aren't you supposed to de-register with the commune or something when you leave?

Yes, you should register your departure at the commune. This is necessary to cancel your health insurance amongst other things.

Also, if you want early access to 2nd pillar you need to de-register. When you de-register you are given a procedure on what to do. The important one is proof of having paid your taxes.

Perhaps he missed out the sentence 'please only give me the advice I want to hear'.

All it means is that the Swiss look funny at every other Indian they meet...
