I have been dealing with the french CAF in setting up my family allowance as a single parent for the past year now. Originally I lived on the west coast of france and was advised that i would receive money for my situation being a single parent and some help to accommodation in addition to my salary. Now that my situation has changed and I have moved to Alsace and work in Basel, my salary has increased considerably. I have submitted every piece of financial information again and again, but still receive nothing from the French, although they tell me I am entitled etc. They always need one more piece of paperwork blah blah. In the long run I hope that I would be better off with the French system, but am getting a bit fed up of the delay....Grrrr.
I am entitled to also claim the Swiss child benefit, if I cancel the French one of course, because I work in Switzerland. I have one child age 3.5. How much is the Swiss one, are there any additional payments for single parents? Is it quick to set up?
