i filed my tax returns early this year... and according to the tax consultant, i am supposed to get CHF 1000 back, as my withholding tax was higher... when will i get the money back from the tax authorities... i haven't even got an acknowledgement after filing my returns and i am already getting ready for Silvester...

Seriously...no idea.......I had to wait for 18 months for my last one, some people wait two months, some two years....

But if you don't even have your acknowledgement yet, i wouldn't bank on having it for Xmas, I'm afraid

The tax man gives interest on the refund in case of delays. This is usually higher than what you get in the bank.

Sorry but for "only" CHF 1,000 they might just credit you for next year.

I have just got my tax rebate from Bern for year 2009 paid out.

But does anyone know what is the standard waiting time? I know some coutnries say: file it before a certain date and you will get it by this date, blah blah some restrictions apply. I did not get my confirmation either but I had an accountant filing it for me

Absolutely correct. With it, you may even be able to order extra fries

There isn't one - as others have said, sometimes its added to the account so you never get the refund in your hand......the lack of limit is why they pay interest

I got my '09 refund paid into my bank afew weeks back.
