+1 for Denise. However I have these contacts to her:

Colfina Finanz/Treuhand GmbH
Steinlettenweg 7
Postfach 36
5074 Eiken
Tel. ++41 (0)62 875 82 75
FAX ++41 (0)62 875 82 76
denise.collin@colfina.ch

Oops I replied in a bit of a rush and used the first contact details I could find...those are out of date.

Thanks for correcting me!

You can go to the tax office & ask for a refund of any overpayment you have made before you receive the official bill. They will return the money very quickly.

I have had previously had refunds for both:
i.e. 1. Direkt and
2. Staat & Gemeinde tax.

Both have chosen either to:
A. credit me for this amount the following year, or
B. transfer a refund (wir werden Ihr Guthaben überweisen).

For B. this has happened within 2-4 weeks of receiving the letter (which also indicates the interest you receive on the number of days the overpayment has been held)............. I think.

I too am currently waiting for 2.B after receiving a letter - but my letter came only 8 days ago, after completing my tax refund in February.

Plus, currently being "arbeitslos" this whole calendar year, it hurts paying this years tax, at last years (employed) tax rate, knowing I have to wait another 12 months to get my over-paid (Direkt, and Staat/Gemeinde) tax back. Consolation is it earns 2% interest. As far as I know, that's the way the system works.

When I was taxed at the source, I would get the adjustment (due to the 3rd pillar deposits) back 2 to 3 weeks after notifying the authority.

At the moment, I am still waiting for my tax bill for 2008!
cool! I was asking about it in another thread... what do you mean by "adjustment"? did you get cash or just the right to reduce your future taxes?

Re: How long did it take for your tax refund to come through?

Old topic but was wondering if theres any change to the timings/speed authorities work. Been waiting for more than a year now for some decision since ive submitted my 2013 report and wondering if its still within normal processing range for the very simple tax report.

If you are in Kanton Zurich as your profile states, then this is normal. It was only a few weeks ago that I got my 2012 and 2013 taxes back

Re: How long did it take for your tax refund to come through?

This is reassuring - I'm still waiting for my 2012/13 to come through. I've not had any letter or confirmation of the refund, but the tax advisor suggested I would be due one. I assume that not receiving notification is also normal?
