So, pizza (bought this afternoon in Italy) as an appetizer, followed by haggis (thanks Neil) and clapshot (thanks Hairy Bikers), and sfogliate alla crema (thanks Migros) for dessert.
Tom
P.S. The 's' at the end of 'Migros' IS pronounced here, unlike up north.

Proper English bacon sarnies, some of Grumpy's best cheeses and chicory salad. Couldn't be asked (my sp) to cook and it was scrumptious.

Pata Negra "5J", manchego cheese, green olives and a bottle of Rioja. Some slices of Parma ham also made it to the table, the Port-infused Stilton remains in the fridge for later today or tomorrow.

Salmon and Tuna sashimi, thinly sliced
Seaweed salad
Steamed whole Fish and mussels, Asian style
Rice with toasted seaweed
Avocado slices
Ginger, wasabi, soy sauce
Better than any restaurant. All ingredients easily obtained at the Coop and Migros (except toasted seaweed slices...that I get from my favorite little Korean shop in Zurich).

Rabbit, testa di vitello, with something (yet to be decided) Brussels sprouts (actually bought in Brussels) and pasta on the side.
Meanwhile, preparing various dishes for Monday (tex-mex), tomorrow I'll make the corn tortillas, flour ones on Monday.

I love this classic thread. It gives me a warm feeling reading about what everyone will be eating this evening.
There is indeed life (and good food) out there. | | The following 4 users would like to thank Leni for this useful post: | |

Noodle-Soup-DIY
I prepare spring onions, mushrooms, bean sprouts, cooked chicken and some kind of noodles in bowls and put them on the table together with a pan of bouillon and everybody creates his own. Always a very pleasant meal with kids |

A variant of chopped salad... Various cheeses, spicy salami, cici (garbanzo beans) with endive and castelfranco (another endive/radicchio thingie), all chopped up with good olive oil and vinegar, some nice bread and olives. It's more of an American thing, I think, but I love it. Am looking for a mezza luna to chop with tho....
Then some nice chocolate, milk and dark. Since my husband is working on tomorrow's lecture, we'll save the wine for the weekend.

Ok, lunch actually.
We went to the village center for risotto today, to find a 1 hour wait!
We decided it'd be quicker to go home and make it, so dug into the freezer and pulled out 2 luganighe and a half kg of tastasal, a half kg of arborio, and Bob's your uncle!
