| | | Tonight's dinner?
So, I'm making a fritto misto (including some soft-shell crabs) for myself and my older daughter (and my girlfriend if she's still hungry after having dinner with her mother), and chili-dogs for daughter #2 (who doesn't like fish), with home-made chili-dog chile (which is different than normal).
And you?
Tom

Hello!
I have just made chicken fajitas with home made guacamole and salsa, salad. The kids just wanted plain chicken wraps as they don't like spicy foods yet. Then I made chocolate brownies for pudding, oh and hubby and I had a nice cold beer to wash it all down....yum!
By the way your menu sounded nice, hope you enjoy it! |

I have just realized with the cold, sober certainty that only your stomach can give you, that I am still allergic to mussels and should not have had the ones which garnished my lunch today.
I'm not having anything for dinner, or for any meal for the rest of the weekend, most likely. I hope to muster toast and tea by Monday .

Roasted pickled radishes for a starter (ooh aren't we fancy?) and then soup with - let me see if I can remember:
- onion
- leek
- carrot
- stewed dried beef
- potato
- sweet potato
- chili pepper
- a handful of cracked corn to thicken it up a bit.
Basically whatever I had on hand... I've got a real soup head on this week. | | This user would like to thank MathNut for this useful post:

Got any histamine sensitivity you know about? Itch, rash, redness etc???
If so, you might want to go get some Zyrtec. I know a couple of folk who've been taken by surprise by the high histamine levels in shellfish |

Thankfully not suffering as Bartholemew is (hopefully better soon!)...
Hubby made some tzatziki to go along with some chicken biryani which I cheat when I make.
I only make enough for the two of us to eat maybe two meals (so about 400g chicken) and only half-way follow the instructions on the packet as well as using only a portion of the spice packet (each packet usually lasts for 3 or 4 makings).
Tasty tasty, enough to help hubby and I get used to "new" cuisine rather than same old Tex-Mex, Classic American, and Swiss food. | | This user would like to thank Peg A for this useful post:

Poutine with moitie/moitie (gerber spreadable cheese and Babybell) followed by some light mixed salad. I had my salad with asian sesame dressing and she had hers with Italian dressing. We both are sipping on some delicious A&W root beer....and movie night is about to kick off.

At the moment, I am really into my 'green soup' which sounds a bit weird but is actually delicious!
Sweat three shallots in olive oil and add two cloves of garlic and fry for one minute max. Then add a whole head of butter lettuce, two chopped courgettes and half a cucumber, along with lots of fresh parsley, pinch of thyme, a bay leaf and ground black pepper, then add chicken stock. Simmer for about 20 minutes, liquidise and serve with a swirl of single cream.

don't get it.
Then again, we've been doing Beta for a new game today and I'm suffering from too much coffee with not enough (real) food. Somehow a handful of cashews and a cereal-bowl full of tortilla chips with cheddar dip just hasn't added up to much brain power today I guess.
(Seriously, 100g'ish of meat per person per meal... I'm not quite sure if you're saying that's bad - too much / too little? Perhaps I said something goofy and am not catching it?)

I was actually thinking of making something like courgette, leek, onion with almonds, garlic and curry on olive oil, and some gruyere and bread with it. But i'll re-evaluate . Thanks!
