Digestive biscuits

Anyone knows where to find said food item around Basel? I find it almost impossible to spot any sort of biscuits without chocolate, cream or such horrible stuff on, both here and at Geánt in St.Louis.

TIA

Martin

Re: Digestive biscuits

I've also seen Digestives - at perfectly reasonable prices, I should add - in the larger Coop stores. Also, most Migros and Coop have a decent selection of "healthy" cookies, meaning less sugar, no chocolate filling, etc. if that's what you're after...

Re: Digestive biscuits

I, too, have seen similar at Coop.

Have you tried Fenwicks Feinkost, near Spalentor? They have all kinds of UK and North American foods and items, including biscuts (and mac n cheese for us Americans who wander in... )

Re: Digestive biscuits

The quintessential Swiss "digestive" biscuit is Darvida. To be found in every Kiosk, supermarket etc.

Re: Digestive biscuits

I have seen some biscuits suspiciously like Hob-Nobs called Hobbits. I think they have them in Carrefour. In a Twilight-zone moment I found an orphaned packet of Chocolate Digestives in there abandoned in one of the aisles of the shop, but I could never find the source of them...

Re: Digestive biscuits

Bigger Coops do Digestive (plain and choccy) as well as Ginger Nuts. I've also found Jacob's Cream Crackers in there, too, which go exceptionally well with Gruyere cheese. Mmm...

Re: Digestive biscuits

Hi!

I've definitely bought digestives either at COOP near the Basel SBB (next to McDonalds) or at COOP City close to Marktplats/Gerbergasser - don't remember which. They also have other types of biscuits and crackers like Tuc.

Re: Digestive biscuits

Never actually tried the McVities sold in Coops. Are they really made in the
UK or is it the same deal like the Heinz Baked Beans they sell which are
produced in Germany and taste discusting in comparison to the real UK ones.
