There are no KFC outlets in Switzerland anymore but there are some in France and Germany.

Depending on location, some dedicated KFC EFers even cross the border from time to time to get their finger lickin' chicken fix.

Re: Is there KFC here?

I've had too much KFC in China, great food when you're drunk.. but otherwise? I never understood people who really, really crave fast food when they're sober.

We went to a gig at the mean fiddler in london many years ago, there was a kfc just outside so after the gig we popped along for our fix, it had more security then a bank, they buzzed you in, the staff where behind a glass wall and you had to put the money one of those one way trays banks have, and then they gave you the food, all of a sudden we didn't feel too safe lol
That's just like the KFC on North Avenue in Baltimore!

Almost! When I lived in the Baltimore area, we'd go clubbing, and if we had munchies afterwards, we'd do one of two things: go to my absolute favorite Korean restaurant (open daily till 4am), or get Royal Farms chicken, which frankly is tastier than KFC. (And available 24/7).

God I miss those two things!!!

I never tried the KFC in China - seemed pointless to me when there are baozi huts and 24 hour lamb kebab stands. I did try their egg tarts though, as someone who I thought was normal told me they were good. They were not.

Re: Is there KFC here?

i guess kfc would not be cheap anymore if it is in switzerland.

my weekly zinger/mcspicy fix is missing since i moved here. not familiar with mcspicy? it is a mcdonald's version of zinger, which i sometimes prefer cos it is more spicy.

i do miss the spiciness and the cheap prices there. i have only eaten fast food twice in 8 months since i am here. sigh.

can't wait for holidays back there.

For those in Zurich with an unsatiable craving for KFC, the nearest store is only 1hr by car ...

Re: Is there KFC here?

For those in Basel, the best fried chicken is at Tramways on Heuwaage. According to local folk, it's way better than KFC.

Re: Is there KFC here?

If you are in Basel, I found a KFC just outside Colmar (France) in a place called Houssen. Just had lunch there over the weekend.

Yep - that one's been there for a while; there's a nearer one now somewhere on the outskirts of Mulhouse. However, now we have Tramways in Basel itself, although not spiced like KFC chicken it's more moist and, well, easier to get to.

But they don't do chicken pieces - only strips and burgers and the batter is strangely like cornflakes. UK chicken pieces are far better.

We went there and stayed for the weekend, specifically so my friend could have KFC on his birthday. It was a major let down. Fortunately the rest of the food in Colmar was superb.

We even stayed next door to the KFC at the Premiere Classe. Wow that place needs doing for trade descriptions!

BUT as Adrian... said right above, Mülhausen is far closer to Basel than Colmar. Colmar of course is a very beautiful City and has quite many superb Restaurants with Alsace cuisine
