| | | Where to find Swiss army chocolate?
I'm going back to the UK tomorrow and helpfully my Dad has put in a last minute request
Last time he was over I gave him a bar of Swiss army chocolate which he took home with him. I have no idea where I got it from as I just dug it out of my cupboard as he wanted to give a friend some Swiss chocolate and it was the only thing I could find with only a few hours before he flew home (can you see a pattern here? ).
Anyway, he wants me to take home another 10 bars but I have no idea where to find it in Basel. Anyone able to shed some light? |

Maybe in one of those Swiss souvenir shops? The ones that sell all the army knives, blankets, etc.
Also, and I don't know if it's an urban myth, I heard that the chocolate has certain ingredients to "bung you up" so the soldiers don't get caught short out in the battlefield. |

I'll have a mooch about on my lunch break and post an update if I find it.
If anyone does know a place in Basel before then I'd be really grateful. I don't have a very long lunch break. |

Found this story (sorry still no help, Mimi): http://www.fromeuropewithlove.net/sw..._chocolate.htm
Anyone knows something new about the brand issue?

You could of course ask Lindt where they do sell them - alternatively... are there any barracks nearby? With a smile (or a quick flash ) you might get some there.
Good luck!

I have seen it at Zurich airport on the air side - I think in the Lindt shop and in the newsagent possibly also the Duty Free shop. I bought it in one of them and saw it in another but can't recall which one.
I guess Basel airport would probably have it at those places too.

Our little village store, Volg, sells it. Check out a Volg in your vicinity.

There is a large army second hand and surplus shop just outside Pratteln. They have it on the counter along with Army biscuits. Its about 3 mins from the Ikea in Pratteln. If you have no car, i could always pick some up for you and drop it off somewhere, as i am off tomorrow and live very close to it.It would be no problem at all.
