Anyone know where to get sweet potatoes (aka. 'yams' in the USA). I'd like to bake some for Thanksgiving!

Large Coop shops have both sweet potatoes and yams for sale.

My local Migros (just regular-sized, not even a big one) sells sweet potatoes. They very cleverly hide them among the normal potatoes.

Here in Adliswil, the Migros always has them in stock too.

Actually, yams (Dioscorea genus) are not the same as sweet potatoes (Ipomoea batatas); only in the USA and Canada sweet potatoes is referred to as yams.

In the non-metropolis of Belp, our Coop has them. They're in the more exotic fruit and vegetable section...with the avocados, ginger, mangos and pomegranate.

This is the placement for sweet potatoes in my nearest Coop as well.

Julsiebear, you may want to do a search about that topic on the forum, not for the finding but rather because I believe there was some discussion sometime about being careful which to get. The ones from <place X> are stringy / full of inner fibers and not as good compared to the ones from <place Y>... unfortunately, I can not remember the details about it.

you get it in Migros.If you have some asian shops near by ,u will find it.
