Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

Zweifel brand S&V crisps have been available for quite a while already, in Migros and Coop in a blue bag.

Don't hold your breath waiting for the other flavours, though.

Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

Years ago (about 5 or 6) one of these chip manufacturers here did make a roast chicken flavour. I don't know what happened to it but it disappeared . Sucks, I really liked it.

Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

There are several flavours of crisps available in the Marinello shop in the main station in Zurich, underneath Bahnhofplatz. I think they're Kettlechips or something like that.

Kettlechips are OK, but I don't like the handcut texture. They also tend not to have much flavouring added. I like my artificial flavourings and unhealthily cooked potatoes thank you.

Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

Still waiting for S & V Pringles to be sold here. Always have to bring them in from another country.

To be honest the pringles range in general here in CH sucks given how many different flavours are available in other countries...

Someone please shoot the man who introduced Paprika flavour to mainland europe...

Huh? Pringles are not crisps. They went to court to prove it and everything!

And they are made from the potatoes that are turned away from the doors of the crisp factories

COOP do quite a few flavours now, including salt and vinegar, granted not as many as back home, but enough

Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

Don't know if this will help given your location, but I have found Bret's salt & vinegar chips at Migros in France. Nice texture, ripples, with more vinegar tang than Zweifel or Kettle, in my opinion. Cheaper than Zweifel, as well!

Re: Salt and vinegar crisps!

Another way to take your salt and vinegar game up a notch is to microwave your chips for 10 or so seconds (depends on how many chips) and then splash them with real malt vinegar (and extra sea salt if you roll like that). Crazy good, y'all.

I agree.
I went back to the UK for an overnight dropping-off-daughter-to-ex trip and my parents asked if I wanted anything special in. Promptly I asked for extra strong cheddar and walkers flavoured crisps, preferably Roast chicken or Smokey bacon.
What I got was extra strong cheddar and a multipack of golden wonder crisps. Ok they were assorted meat flavours but golden wonder does not have as much flavour as walkers.
I found brannigans and seabrooks out there though, and managed to get them back without too much crumbage.

That sounds delicious; I just have to find the malt vinegar! I suppose I will need to go to the British Market, since I have yet to see it at Migros, Coop, Carrefour, etc.
