corn mush in this case.. not to finely ground.. if you don't finish it it's excellent for repairing small cracks in the wall.

I remember 'grits' from watching the Beverley Hillbillies when I was little, always wondered what they were.

Sorry to the non-instant snobs- you can't be a foodie about grits. Grits rock, instant or not, big slab of butter (or Parkay if you really white trash ), salt, and get ready to constipate!

| | | | | my parents were snowbirds lived in s.Florida for a number of winters.. and for many of those years my dad did the drive back and forth each year, It was during those trips my mum picked up a taste for grits and used to smuggle them back north of the Mason-Dixon line.
other kids parents brought back sacks of oranges when they came back from Fla... my parents ( RIP ) brought back :
grits
vidalia onions
and smithfield ham
now then... anyone know where I can get a good pecan waffle? | | The following 3 users would like to thank grynch for this useful post: | |

This brings even more confusion on why they got Korean names.
Also, no self-respected person from the "Souff" would trust grits made by some Northerner...(half Canadian at that). |

| | | | | I eat my cream of wheat with butter and sugar (or cinnamon and maple syrup), same goes for oatmeal but having gotten into grits via my Southern friends, I eat my grits with salty stuff.
Most favorite "heart attack on a plate" (or in this case a cup) is to get grits with cheese and crumbled sausage from Checkers. | Quote: | | | | | vidalia onions
