I have been drinking green tea mostly during work instead of coffee.

Would you recommend me some good tea of your taste?

A cup of good tea makes my day bright
Yes. Traditional Black Sea Turkish tea -Petekzade. Done properly it is just.. very pleasant, not at all bitter but with all the flavour and colour a good tea should have. Ask around Turkish shops.

I find Ceylon Tea as a good one. It has got some extra flavors which makes it more tasty.

Re: Good tea to drink

Totally agree on the Irish tea discussion. Will be stocking up on Barry's and Yorkshire when I get back in a week. Am currently surviving on Lipton and it's not the same. My kettle gave out too last week, can't easily find another with the Brita Water filter built in....

Now this catering size option in Lausanne is interesting....will look for it on my next trip to Welschland...there is a Northern Ireland tea Nambarrie which ships to here..nambarrie.com...quite cheap and strong! You'll get a pot from a single teabag.

Oh and speaking of kettles, Migros have a teapot ceramic kettle, plus one with a "keep warm" function perfect for stewing tea.....

Re: Good tea to drink

Yorkshire Gold is by far the best tea I have tasted:

Haven't found it over here yet, we always buy a few boxes when we go back the UK

Re: Good tea to drink

Good, someone else who adds milk to Earl Grey tea. I was told no to do that, as it reacts with the bergamot oil or something, but I ignored them and do it anyway (I'm like that).

Re: Good tea to drink

West Lake Dragon Green Tea (Xi Hu Long Jing Green Tea) is one of the best green tea to me. The Oolong Tea is a semi-fermented tea (between Green and Black, the tea water is yellowish to green), also very good!

To have some authentic tea, you may want to check in some Chinese or Asian Grocery Stores, or you can ask some friends to bring them from China if you have such chances.

Hope it helps!

Re: Good tea to drink

I usually get supplies from here:

www.algcoffee.co.uk

Try the oolong tea or lapsang souchong. I also like Kenya Pea berry coffee for press coffee and old brown java for the expresso.

Is there actually a proper tea shop in Zürich? I miss the Teetheke from Dresden I always have to stock my tea when on holidays...
A late reply, but:

Schwarzenbach has some teas in the Niederdorf:
http://www.schwarzenbach.ch/

Teehaus Ch'a near Manesseplatz:
http://www.teehaus-cha.ch/

Tee Gschwendner near Bahnhofstrasse:
http://www.teagschwendner.com/

Teehaus Shui Tang in the Niederdorf:
http://www.shuitang.ch/

Teehaus Wühre just opposite the Limmat as well, but they don't seem to have any website.

Actually...
Where to buy Tea in Zürich?

Thierry

Re: Good tea to drink

I like trying different types of tea but one of my favorite is Twinings Lady Grey... I have been drinking it for years, which has a delicate taste of bergamot, with added hints of oranges and lemons and smells gorgeus...

I have also recently discovered a new brand, but again Earl Grey
Mariage Fréres - Earl Grey French Blue. You can buy it in Globus or Jelmoli. It is expensive but worth it...

Re: Good tea to drink

Would anyone in Basel be interested in a tea tasting one weekday evening?

I'm no expert but I've got quite a collection of teas which I'm happy to waffle on about (waffle = talk without much substance).
