Looking for a whole turkey breast for Christmas dinner recipe

Hello!

Where is my best chance at finding one? All I've been able to find are cutlets or legs. I can pop over the border in France and Germany if I need to.

Thank-you!

They have whole Turkeys in the Coop next to Globus in Bellevue...... I think they should include enough breastage for everyone, with a bit of leg for the more discerning.

Re: Looking for a whole turkey breast for Christmas dinner recipe

last year at Manor we could only find whole turkey's ... Mrs. G explained to the guy on the counter that as it was just the two of us we just wanted a breast and did he know where we could find one.

he immediately said no problem.. picked up a whole turkey...cut it into pieces and gave us the breast.

it never hurts to ask... even in Switzerland

They are selling 1kg turkey breast in Kaufland - Bad Säckingen for only 6 Euros a go.

I bought one and it was enough for 6 people and was beautiful

I've seen them year round in most french supermarkets (including Migros).

However, I've yet to see a 'crown' (both breasts still on the breast-bone), anywhere. I've resorted to buying a whole bird to get one before but it's terribly wasteful.

Last year I just bought two smaller ones seperately and sandwiched them together with the stuffing and wrapped them in Parma ham. Worked fine.

Aldi currently has turkey breasts, 1 kg a piece, of course, this being Switzerland, at a price you get a whole 12 lb turkey for in the USA (read: around CHF 13).

I saw today that they have whole turkey breasts at Aldi in Weil am Rhein (big shopping center on Hauptstrasse).

At Thanksgiving they also had turkeys cut into large pieces (whole breasts, whole legs) as well as small "turkey steak" pieces at Rewe which is in the same building as Aldi. I was quite pleased with the whole leg I purchased there.

Also - I saw when I was in Reihen on Monday that Henz Delikatessen was advertising turkeys for Christmas dinner.

Geant Casino St Louis always have Turkey breasts. Now have whole Turkeys now including Free Range ones. As far as I know meat controls are not on Turkey as this is not a controlled meat.

I just saw a whole refrigerator case full of them at Migros (MParc). I didn't look at the price though.

I happened to be in the tiny Migros on Mülhauserstrasse the other day and noticed they actually had a whole turkey in the chilled (not frozen) meat. It wasn't a bad size and was "only" about 36chf.

I know they'd only had turkey "steaks" there previous years, didn't even think to check this year. (Especially after the way the guy at the meat counter looked at me when I asked whether they had any at the larger one on Burgfelderstrasse.)
