Where to buy Paneer and hollumi?

Does anyone know where you can buy Hollumi and Paneer?

Hollumi is a cheese which is quite salty and very tasty and paneer is an indian cheese

I have tried to look for both and I can't find anywhere!

Thanks
Amy

For Paneer:
in migros, buy 'serac'. its in the normal section where you would normally find other varieties of cheese.

Re: Where to buy Paneer and hollumi?

Halloumi is sold in most coops that I have seen.

Usually in a blue collour box, not always with the rest of the cheeses.

I love the stuff, and buy it regularly!!!

Thankfully, the campsite near where I live, that has a little shop also stocks it, and reserves it for me

Re: Where to buy Paneer and hollumi?

Haloumi is a cheese from Cyprus with an addition of mint in it. I have also seen it sold at Volg, which I don't know if you have in the Romandie. It is sold as a cheese which can be grilled, so it is usually available more in the summer grill season.
Paneer is not so hard to make, because it is not a true "cheese". That is, it does not require any culture to turn the milk into curds, but rather acid: lemon or vinegar to "turn" the milk. The clumped up curd is then collected in a fine cloth and then lifted out of the whey liquid, and subsequently pressed into the block that we buy at the indian market. More detailed instructions are available on the net.
