Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

I'm looking for the both of them in specific but can't find them anywhere

--

Unsweetened Almond Milk - for fitness purposes

Bison Meat - Again for fitness purposes

--

Anybody know where or how I could find them in my area? I'm in Biel...what to call them in German or what I could try?

Thank you

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

For the almond milk I'd check out health-food shops.

For the bison meat, talk to a butcher. They can often order stuff they don't have in stock. Don't expect it to be cheap though.

It's that January fad diet time again!

For those who partake - are the gyms full to the brim as well?

Not to worry, just wait a couple more weeks.

To answer the question - Co-op had Canadian Bison steaks before Christmas at something like 170CHF a Kilo.

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

German for bison is Bison, so Bison meat would be Bisonfleisch, at a guess.

It's crazy how people always judge without knowing and have to have negative/sarcastic tone's, guess it's easier on the internet

For your information Tommy boy, I'm a pro boxer and fitness model. I'm in shape all year round. So now I am here I want to know where I can get what I need to keep me better than the rest.

Thanks

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

We all judge before we know something - then we open our mouths ... I know it's easier to do it on the internet.

It's human nature to judge

Watch it Tom, you're dealing with a pro boxer and fitness model with no time to shop. So after your teeth get punched in, you'll be photographed with the victor posing over the crumpled heap.

Yikes Scoob!

Nah, he's not real, he's only a model.

Actually I have heard that steroid abuse makes you aggressive.

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

Almond Milk would be "Mandelmilch". Try in a "Reformhaus" -> healthy food stores.
As for the Bison... I think I saw that in Migros in the wrapped meat display. If ever, it's in their "Sélection" line. Which is the expensive stuff.

Just curious: Why Bison? Because of the fat? If so, ever considered horse meat? (that would be "Pferdefleisch")

No, he said Almond milk. Popcorn has too many carbohydrates.

Please pay attention at the back!

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

Or as the woman who ordered 500 liters of milk to bath in and the dairy bloke asked "you want it pasturized?"
She replyed: "No up to my tits will be enough!"

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

In Zurich the chain of stores selling almond milk, coconut water, and a lot of the stuff you'd want to eat for a paleo-type diet, is called vital.punkt. For specialty meats I'd also look around for a proper butcher, especially if you're lookin for grass-fed beef. But as for bison, I second the previous posts (but there is no guarantee of getting it from grass-fed stock).

Re: Almond Milk? Bison Meat?

Some of my lactose intolerant / IBD friends use almond milk instead of cow milk for obvious reasons, they say the almond milk is much tastier than soy, which I can believe.

Alas, the ones I can recall who do this don't live here so I too will just have to guess that you'd be most likely to find it at a health food / "Reformhaus" store. If they don't have it, I'm sure they'd be pretty likely to be able to tell you where to find it.

I'm curious also about the bison meat - why? AFAIK there aren't many bison here outside of the zoos, perhaps I'm wrong? I'd think lean "local" meat would be that elusive percentage healthier than any meat which had to cross the ocean? So, I am curious about why bison specifically?

For the Almond Milk try Reformhaus Kropf, Geyisriedweg 4,2504 Biel
You have a Bison Ranch near by: www.bisonranch.ch at Les-Près d'Orvin
They do have an menu with bison meat so I guess you can buy some as well.
