Why the snigger with Wankdorf?
Good ´ol southern name, that is, hada neighbour called Hr. Wanker, and there is the 1780m high Wank mountain in Bavaria and up it runs the Wankbahn. And you reach it going past Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

I've actually been on the Wank.

But please tell me your neighbour's first name isn't Richard! I had a science teacher called Mr. Dick. You can imagine how much fun he had with that name and a bunch of 15 year olds. He pulled it off very well though... Hmmm can't say anything without it potentially meaning something else now!!!

If you're going to go as a couple, wouldn't Wankdorf be more appropriate?

They should have had a stall explaining to locals why the British snigger at the mere mention of their town & why they tend to fall on the floor in hysterics when it's mentioned in conjunction with their football team.

Was it last year that Spurs played them? the British press had a field day with it - couple of the match reports were genius:

Yes, I was at the game and my mate watching on TV texted me with the "clean sheets" quote.

Also, my Swiss colleague almost choked when I told him what "wank" means in english.
