What are the prices like at these shops? At an Indian grocery store in Sunnyvale, California, I bought two full shopping bags of spices, okra, and paneer for 40 USD. Should I expect to pay 2x or 3x that price here?
Of course it depends on what you buy, but I would say it'd cost almost 3 times more. I normally spend around chf 70-80 on 1 shopping bag containing spices, snacks, frozen parathas and paneer. Go to a Migros/Coop and it'll be the same if not more...

But, to be honest, I don't really care what it costs, I'm just happy that we have the opportunity to buy these products.

The biggest thing I've noticed about prices at these places is that you actually get a discount for buying bulk - so at one place, 1kg of basmati rice is similar in price to the 'normal' supermarket but if you buy the 5kg bag it's much cheaper per kilo.
I still haven't noticed the Swiss pricing structure changes much based on the amount you buy of something ... except Denner sometimes has 'double-packs' that end up giving you a 10% - 20% discount. Other than that, you may save 5 rappen for buying a five-pack of rosti instead of five individual packs ...

Re: Ethnic Grocery Stores

Very good ethnic store in Geneva - "Chez Ashanti", Rue de Montchoisy 23, 1207 Genève. You can find there a very good choice of British, Latin American, Philippine, Russian, Polish, Balkan, Indian food. Open also on Sundays.
