Re: Thermomix..

You need to know what you want it for..if you are really going to grind your own wheat, spelt.. grains to make bread, then YES…make soups .. YES.. pasta sauces.. YES.. steam veggies and chicken / fish then YES

But if you also have an Indian diet then there is a big question mark, as in my case.. one can grind the dal/ lentils beans etc etc very well.. but at that price it is too expensive..

This is just my conclusion...

Re: Thermomix..

I was also thinking to buy Thermomix too!

My friend swears by it. We are going to try it out together to see if it's worth for me to buy it. I am tempted to buy it!

Re: Thermomix..

Hi,

I was checking a Thermomix link and I came across this link via Google.

To answer your question, it's a wonderful wonderful machine, I've had one for a few years and now I'm also a consultant. If you contact the office, the address is here and ask for an English speaking consultant you might get me.

Huber - Schindler GmbH - Vorwerk
www.vorwerk.com/ch/huber-schindler/‎
Luzernerstrasse 69, 6030 Ebikon, Switzerland
+41 41 422 10 08

Please feel free to email me or message me on my FaceBook Thermomix page https://www.facebook.com/cheryldevalliere.thermomix

I also have a blog
http://dvfood.blogspot.ch/search?q=Thermomix

but as I'm still writing the publications for my dissertation, my posts are rather sporadic.

The price in Germany and France is 990 Euro and here it is 1290. I have lots of info on my FB Thermomix page, including the special offer for January.
and I have a board called Thermomix Videos here: http://www.pinterest.com/Thermomixer...rmomix-videos/

Cheers, Cheryl

Hello..

Does anyone have a Thermomix.. ? It is quiet pricey but my friends swear by it...any one ready to share their experience.. What's it like, in regards to how handy is it, and do you use it very often...and hasn't joined the other machines in a cupboard waiting to be used once in a blue moon...

Thanks..

Re: Thermomix..

This fresh in from the guy who screens the adverts from the many people wanting, no desperate to flog their TM31's and TM5's.
Ahem! IN my humble opinion get a cheap chinese knock off and a rice cooker and you can buy that kind of combo new every year for eight and a half years before you reach the price of a Thermomix, you would have to use the damn TM machine every day for eight years before it would pay off, the pages of our little online auctions house are filled with peoples dusty and unused and unwanted machine from the house of Vorwerk.
Aaand all if you decide to get a pre-loved one of these "rarely used" or "almost new" devices: any TM5 under 750€ and TM31 younger than, lets say, 2013 for under 600€ then my advise is: "run Forrest run"

Re: Thermomix..

This is the same as comparing KIA and BMW- they
both have 4 wheels. And you can drive from A to B. But ... I think, you've just never seen Thermomix work

Re: Thermomix..

Yes but where is the fun, the pleasure and the sheer Zen of cooking when you simply push a button? Think, it is a overpriced cooking tool with a very limited bandwidth, as if you buy a 1200€ set of knives and only cut tomatos with them, also if I remember correctly the Thermomix party host has a 45% profit margin on every sold device. Your 1200€ TM5 pays for the host´s next holiday to Ibiza and I can think of better things to waste money on.

Re: Thermomix..

Please explain why I would buy a tool for 1200 CHF/EUR where I have to use the recipes from that tool only? Heard from a friend, who has one, that "creative cooking" as in cooking at the spur of the moment, is not that easy as you have to follow the recipe. So I do not understand what is the advantage?

Re: Thermomix..

I have a friend that has one and loves it. Everything I have had that she has made with the machine has been amazing. However, get yourself a high powered blender, good quality food processor and a good quality rice cooker and you can do everything the machine does. I have a vitamix, a cuisinart food processor and an aroma rice cooker and am able to make every recipe she can using the thermomix for half the cost.
