I found Marie biscuits at the COOP - it's called A Bolacha MARIA Tradicional, but it looks and taste exactly the same

I have always believed Marie Beskuitjies to be an authentic South African biscuit, I mean we all cut our teeth on it.... and as I was exitedly typing away at the posts and eating about half a pack of the stuff the cleaning lady informs me that it is actually originally a Portuguese product
No wonder we are sometimes called stupid Africans hehehe...

Chilli Addict chilli jam is available in Globus' food department in their Bern store. My husband loves it on hamburgers and hot dogs. Not sure if it's stocked in all their stores though; we've never found it in the Lausanne branch when we've been in the area.

I agree with Pather...one gets use to the Swiss food after a while.

Forgive me if I'm naive, or just blind, but i can't find this anywhere on the mentioned websites??? am I missing something?

mmmm not a kill joy but i have bought vacuum packets of springbok and ostrich in lidl or aldi for hell of a lot cheaper than i have seen here.

Haven't seen any ostrich for a while, I think there are health problems with the stock in South Africa and it's not being imported at the moment. Kapweine site given above says there's an export ban. Same thing happened a few years back, so hopefully ostrich will be back in the stores sometime in the future. Shame really, it makes very tasty fahitas.
