Re: South African products

LOL
I have always believed Marie Beskuitjies to be an authentic South African biscuit, I mean we all cut our teeth on it.... and as I was exitedly typing away at the posts and eating about half a pack of the stuff the cleaning lady informs me that it is actually originally a Portuguese product
No wonder we are sometimes called stupid Africans hehehe...

Yes, we do! Pity you live out of the delivery zone!!
With time, you will start to enjoy the food here, and after 9years, start to find that South African food, tastes a bit strange.......everything except the seafood , of course!!

Re: South African products

This butcher in Zurich makes excellent boerewors to order, and will post to you anywhere in the country - we have been ordering for the last 3 years.

Re: South African products

Chilli Addict chilli jam is available in Globus' food department in their Bern store. My husband loves it on hamburgers and hot dogs. Not sure if it's stocked in all their stores though; we've never found it in the Lausanne branch when we've been in the area.

The rims on two of my motorcycles are from South Africa (BST), but they aren't edible.

Re: South African products

Haven't seen any ostrich for a while, I think there are health problems with the stock in South Africa and it's not being imported at the moment. Kapweine site given above says there's an export ban. Same thing happened a few years back, so hopefully ostrich will be back in the stores sometime in the future. Shame really, it makes very tasty fahitas.
