| | | Pure still apple juice?
Where can I find pure, still apple juice? Every apple juice I find in Coop also has pear juice, and to me it tastes funny. I just want apple juice!

At my work (hotel) we got Ramseier Süssmost in Tetra Pak /1 L, but have not seen this product at the local coop.
Give Ramseier a mail and ask if you can purchase this product at volg or your local supplier for mineral/ sports drinks

Well I learnt something | Quote: | | | | As cider pears have a lower market value than cider apples, it is frequently suspected that apple juice is diluted with the cheaper pear juice. According to Swiss law, apple juice can contain a maximum 10% of pear juice and pear juice a maximum 10% of apple juice [1]. For any other ratios a different designation, e.g. sweet must or fruit juice has to be used, so that the composition is clear for the consumer. | | | | | http://www.buechigmbh.de/uploads/med...Nr43_EN_01.pdf (pdf)

You can also get it at the farm stands or direct from the farmer. Landi also has local products made by local farmers and they sell big 5 liter boxes of pure apple juice.

Hi.
I just moved here 2 weeks ago, and love Apple Juice. I haven't noticed the pear influence in the Migros apple juice (they tend to hide it well), but I didn't like the Coop one at all.
However, I was browsing in Müeller on Saturday and noticed they sell Ramseier Apple juice there - give it a try! If it's the same as they serve on Swiss Air, then i'm sold!
Si

What you are looking for is called "Most" (rhymes with 'lost'). It is usually clody rather than clear because it is not strained and sometimes allowed to ferment slightly.
As the real apple season is soon on the way, get out to the village markets or farm shops and look for the stuff freshly pressed.

The packet says
The ingredients say | Quote: | | | | Apfelsaft* 90% (Schweiz), Birnensaft* 10% (Schweiz). *aus Konzentrat. | | | | |
and Ramseier isn't much better | Quote: | | | | Schweizer Apfelsaft (min. 90%) und Schweizer Birnensaft (max. 10%) aus Konzentrat, Kohlensäure | | | | | (Not sure if their non-fizzy stuff is any different, but I wouldn't have thought so.) As you're in neuch, keep an eye out for this. Apart from some juice made from apples from my friend's parent's garden, this is the best apple juice I've ever tasted (s'why there's no juice left) forget supermarket stuff- once you try this bad boy you'll never bother with anything else. It's made in Porrentruy in Jura and is 100% apple juice. If you can't find it, I can bring some to Neuchatel for you, some time!

Chap I used to work with used to make his own (cloudy) apple juice from his (or his family's) apples.
Used to give me an awful jippy tummy, but it tasted lovely.

You will get fresh and 100% natural apple juice at the farmer's market. Some of the farms also sell these. That is the only 'real' apple juice i have found here.

Here is what the 5L size of apple juice you get at a farmer's or Landi will look like. It is Pasteurized but 100% pure juice.
