Bakery or Patisserie recommendations in Zurich?

We are going to be having several guests on Saturday, and I would like to buy a nice cake for dessert. Normally we go to either Sprungli or Stocker in the HB, but I'd like something a bit nicer. Ideally I'd like to find some place that sells things like cheesecakes or layer cakes, napolians or even cannolis.

Anyone have a good recommendation? Anywhere in Zurich town is good.

Thanks!

Starbucks??? lol.... or I think Globus (bellevue) and Felix (bellevue) sell good cakes.

Re: Bakery or Patisserie recommendations in Zurich?

For the type of Southern Italian pastry that you listed (cannoli, etc.) and more, I really like this place: http://www.konditorei-caredda.ch/Kon...Patisserie.htm
He is in Josefstrasse (Kreis 5) and really tasty.

For something a bit different, try this place: http://www.miyuko.ch/miyuko/cafe-tearoom/
Japanese-style pastries, elaborate cakes with wonderful taste in Kreis 6.

I am a big fan of both places (my waistline not so much)

Re: Bakery or Patisserie recommendations in Zurich?

I tried Felix yesterday, but they mainly have smaller individual size cakes, or smallish fruit torts. I am looking mainly for cakes or nice pastries; not the same old kind of stuff that you find in the usual confisseries here.

That Miyuko place looks AMAZING! The website shows just the types of cakes I'm looking for! YUMMY!
Too bad I ran over there only to find they are on vacation this week.
They could have said so on their website so I didn't waste my time going all the way over there. But I will be back, that's for sure!

And Starbucks? Really? I said something NICER than Sprungli.

...
Caredda also have a nice cafe in the Niederdorf, should Josefstrasse prove too cool. Not sure if it's the same branch of the fambly, but both can be commended for your needs.

EDIT: Or try their newish restaurant Zentraleck on Zentralstrasse. Nice place.
