I remember seeing a post about a place to buy black beans. The big COOP in Dietlikon has canned black beans (Compal). They also have dried back beans and many other canned and dried beans. I went this weekend and bought about 10 cans of beans

on that note, do you know of anywhere in the Zurich area where one can buy dried black beans? Im really feeling like some good burritos

I've found them at Asian stores (New Asia Market at Kalkbreit in Zurich, z.B.) - you can get them also at Indian stores and more expensively at El Maiz in Zurich.

Coop Egerkingen has them. Trouble is you need to get soft water (eg rain, melted snow, I guess you can buy it) to cook them soft.

Frozen peases cause diseases?

There are Rapunzel-brand dried black beans at Bioladen/Reformhauses.

All the bio shops around Neuchatel also have dried black beans, and I've seen canned black beans at an Indian shop as well.

Also, it's really annoying to have your freezer full of cans.

Some of the Coops in downtown Bern (ex. Ryfflihof) have a Brazilian foods section. There they have a variety of dried beans including black beans. I go there when I need to make feijoada.
