I just used the online grocery delivery service from www.leshop.ch and it was great. The site is totally easy to use, with English instructions, and there is a good selection to choose from - including many international items.

It's connected with Migros so you can collect "M-Cumulus" points too. The delivery fee can be as low as under 8 CHF. Plus you don't even have to be home when they deliver!

No tipping (it's the post office). They will leave it outside .

They can leave it outside or you can arrange for them to leave it with a neighbor. They pack the cold items in a special bag with a cold water bottle so it won't spoil before you get home.

I especially like how you can save shopping "lists" online so you can add things whenever you think of them. And you can re-use the lists each time you order if you end up always buying the same things.

You have to leave the water bottle and bag out the next time you get a delivery or they charge you for it each time they come (I think its 5chf)

Also - the freezer things come separately

But its a good service - and unlike the Migros you visit - le-shop sells wine and save you having to carry it home

& also other goodies that are difficult to find ... English Mustard & HP Sauce being two that come to mind straight away ...

There is a shop called 'London Store' in Zug, its great for the above as well as Walkers crisps, Cadburys chocolate etc....

Personally I like the coop online store better. It does all you mentioned but delivers more quickly... you can order for next day delivery. (Last time I checked in November 07)

I also find it has more products and they bring it all the way to top floors.
Downside: you have to be home for the delivery...

Le Shop also provide next day delivery, although you have to order by 3.30pm on a Friday to get Saturday am delivery. Also, they leave it on the doorstep.

Yes but if you are not home to let them in they leave it outside downstairs, right?

I have a different type of doorstep from you obviously, granted it doesn't work for all.

I used to use LeShop extensively, but stopped about a year ago. I was happy with their service for several years, but suddenly it seemed that every order had errors - products missing, wrong products sent, etc.

I don't know if they were going through a bumpy time, or what, but it was enough to make me stop using them.

Yeah, I used that once. It's a pretty good service, though they don't have NZ marmite. Just that naxty brown, runny, sweet British stuff.

Real marmite is black. Everyone knows that.

New to this site but I have one very important question from me that I need answered lol. Is it possible to have your food shopping delivered in Switzerland or is it still a case of a trip to the supermarket every week.

I know this may seam like a crazy question but I have gotten use to having my shopping delivered over the last few year mainly because I find it too stressful with kids in tow. My parnter has assured me shopping in Switzerland is a relaxing experience and not pushing and shoving like the UK.


I have to agree that when we were in Geneva in Nov we went to the Migro a few times and I did feel it was a completly different experience but not sure if this was becasue I was in hols mood.

Don't know if anyone would agree with me on this one but I think the fact we have 24 hour shopping here in the UK and in Switzerland everything closes from 4/5pm Sat till the following Monday will take time to get use too, not knowing you can pop out to the supermarket whenever you need too.

I think I can adjust to Swiss life and do without all the commerical temptation for a better quailty of life for my family.
