red solo cups

Does anyone know where to find red solo cups in Zürich?
They don't necessarily have to be red just the general type of cup.
Thanks!

Never heard of them, but google suggests you're just looking for disposable plastic cups, which you can find at any supermarket. Have you actually looked?

Re: red solo cups

Yea, problem is they are a different measurement (16oz) hence a bit different than regular disposable cups.

Re: red solo cups

Great title and post. We read the title. We don't know what 'solo cups' are. Then we hear that they don't have to be red and only in the third post in the thread do we hear that the relevant bit is not the colour but the size!

Re: red solo cups

Apologies for not being clearer and assuming that people automatically know red solo cups. anyway they are party cups made of a thicker plastic than regular disposable cups and hold 16oz.
And they have their own anthem:

Re: red solo cups

If anyone knows where to get them or something similar around here I'd be interested too. The ones I've found in Coop or Migros are either too small and flimsy or the transparent ones that break easily.

I have found this website that sells them, both the 12 and 16 oz variants..
problem is I need them quite soon and they might not ship in time, but it might still help you!

Re: red solo cups

I might have 10 or 20 in my garage storage Don't think you can find those exact cups here...didn't realize they were that special myself! Disposable things are much more a US thing than European, so I guess the selection of said stuff is more limited here.

Re: red solo cups

I have not checked myself, but you should check out the nearest ALIGRO store. If they do not Solo, these should have something that will work.

I did not know this. Now I have to take back all of the bad things I've ever said about the "ubiquitous red cup".

Re: red solo cups

So the OP has not come back to mention the solution he/she found. I have not been to our local Aligro yet so I have not seen the options there.

I was however out at a Migros MMM and saw these cups. They are 4 DL and quite sturdy. Might be an option for people interested in beer or soft drink cups.

Just posting so if someone does a search in the future.

Aligro has a FREE membership. Here is the link for the card (a normal consumer and not a restaurant/store which have another Professional card).

This is the FR link. You can get it in DE as well. Order the card then you are good to go.

Re: red solo cups

Legit red solo cups, made in USA in Urbana, IL found in Coop Cite in Lausanne on the clearance rack. 25 cups marked down to 2 francs. The fine print says Party Becher 3 dl/Gobelets party/Bicchieri party. P.S. Don't bother checking that particular Coop near St. Francois because I bought every sleeve they had.

It must have been in the early eighties the last time I've seen in Europe a product with the proud "Made in U.S.A."

Is this a joke? Isn't there a bottle of Jack on every back bar in Europe?

Re: red solo cups

So, SOLO red cups - 3 sizes, are now carried by Aligro.

50 cups per pack:

16oz, 12-14oz and 10oz

You can find your closest store here: http://www.aligro.ch/fr/lentreprise/les-marches-aligro/
